Spend some time at Kara Kara Blue Lake or take in the natural beauty of the region as you enjoy a boat ride along the Demerara River. Stroll through the many markets of Port Mourant, including the Port Mourant Market and the Rose Hall Market.

    The heritage of Guyana is a combination of great local architecture and the living culture of its diverse population. In Georgetown, marvel at the Dutch canal engineering, the City Hall (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and 9th-century stilted wooden houses. Discover historical structures showcasing the country’s past and present, such as the Christianburg Waterwheel. Visit St. George’s Cathedral, an iconic Gothic-style cathedral built in 1842, and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with its Romanesque architecture.
